We are very happy to announce that we have just added National listings to Diggsy.com – This includes over 1.4 million properties Nationwide! This marks a giant leap forward for Diggsy and the real estate search market.

Testing for Diggsy.com went great. Localized to our home area of South and Central Florida, we had phenomenal results and feedback. Traffic and engagement grew to impressive levels for such a small area and the comments have been great. For the most part everybody has loved the speed and simplicity that Diggsy brings to the table. Information is easy to find and the search experience in general is much easier than other sites, claim most of the participants. One twitter even ventured to say “this is how real estate search should be”.

National listings, is a huge step for us but this is just the beginning. We are currently working on user registrations which will allow users to save properties and searches which should be live soon. There are a lot of exciting features in the works and we cannot wait to show the world. Whether your looking for a beach house in California or an apartment in New York, get out there and try Diggsy.com out!

Poised to bring real estate search back to the fundamentals, Diggsy.com strips complex real estate search to its simplest form. Diggsy gives potential home buyers the fastest and most straightforward real estate search tool to date, making searching for the perfect home easier than ever before.

Founders Jesse Friedman and John Clark, based in South Florida, are currently testing this concept in a number of markets including Palm Beach County, Brevard County, and the city of Orlando. Meeting with success in each market, the formula of speed, simplicity, and usability will be put to the test when the site makes its National launch in December by adding real estate listings from across the United States.

Friedman, an expert in advertising and marketing, teamed up with pro-coder John Clark to execute this project, and both young men are bracing for its instant success. Friedman states, “Real estate search is riddled with slow speeds and inaccuracies. Our approach with Diggsy.com is to allow users to easily and quickly search for their next home without any guesstimates or other unnecessary data. We believe that not only have we improved on a process that was already in place, but made this is a more exciting and pleasurable experience for the end user.”

From a coding standpoint, Clark adds, “The finest details of the site were scrutinized for speed. Every image, every code is optimized to be as fast and user-friendly as possible.”

The initial feature set of Diggsy.com is at its most basic form. In coming months, some very unique and exciting functionality will be added that promises to create a more unique and customized search experience for potential homebuyers. Friedman states, “Our first killer feature will be a layer of personalization that will give users tailored search results based on their search behavior and other factors. While new features will constantly be added, careful consideration will always be used to keep the site as fast and usable as possible.”

###

Diggsy.com is a self-funded, start up company based in South Florida focused on aggregating real estate search results from a national feed and delivering results to their users more efficiently and quickly than competing sites. Their streamlined design and tailored usability features simplify searches to improve the experience for the end user.

Working from the ground up, Diggsy.com creators have built a website that offers users a simple but unique real estate search experience. Data is clearly shown and pictures are big although the biggest plus is the sites speed. Current competition offerings include sites built to offer home buyers a complicated assortment of services with often inaccurate information and slow loading times which create a poor user experience. Diggsy.com at its core is purely a real estate search engine in its simplest but most effective form, offering only homes for sale with little else. By “cutting the fat”, creators have built a site with phenomenal speeds. Compared to the larger real estate websites, pages load in less than half the time on average, creating a user experience that is far less frustrating than current offerings. Diggsy.com is currently in alpha stage with data from the majority of the central-west coast of Florida. In the coming months, the site will expand with National coverage. During this alpha stage, the site has limited, search-only functionality but will continuously add new and unique functionality to assist homebuyers in the fastest and easiest real estate search possible.

We are happy to say that we recently launched a brand new website for the Miami Real Estate market. The new site promises to be one of the easiest ways for users to search real estate in Miami. Like our other sites, it will feature all of the bells and whistles that make our sites great. The addition of the Miami website marks our 3rd site in South Florida which should generate significant traffic and leads. Other sites in Brevard County and Palm Beach County are currently receiving over 3500 visitors a day. With the size of the Miami market, we expect big numbers and leads. If you are a Miami agent looking for leads, don’t hesitate to contact us as we currently need agents in West Miami areas, Homestead, Kendall etc and will probably need agents in other areas soon.

Google Instant is a new feature released by Google that shows you search results as you type. It is pretty cool and actually works very well. I was certain it would be “laggy” but it does in fact work instantly. So what does this mean for real estate search and search engine optimization (seo) in regards to real estate? The Google Instant feature will cause a shift in user search behavior which will ultimately affect seo. The shift will be users seeking more exact results by inputting more specific “long-tail” key phrases. Here is what will happen. Users will search for “real estate” and automatically see the broad results that are returned and they will keep typing “real estate in” and input their city or desired location and receive more specific and targeted search results. This shift will give the advantage to real estate websites targeting long-tail key phrases. I would expect the big boys, realtor.com, zillow, etc. to take a decent hit from this new feature and local real estate sites that are well optimized for long-tails should benefit from this.

Google ranks websites using an algorithm comprised of over 200 variables. This is very technical and Google loves to change this algorithm all the time to give more accurate results to the end user. To make things easier to understand we will look at the two main components that Google looks at when evaluating websites- content and backlinks.

“Content is King” is a phrase that every internet marketer goes by. The basis for all rankings is the content on your own site and how it is formatted. Here are some of the things Google looks at in regards to content:

Keywords – Before you do anything you should decide what keywords you want to target. This is what you expect people to type to find your site. Sometimes its better to focus on a large amount of longer phrases than a small amount of highly competitive smaller keywords. Be realistic. If you have a brand new site you cant expect to immediately jump into first place. The easiest thing to do is pick a less competitive niche to start and work your way out.

Amount of text on a page and relevancy – Once sentence per page is not going to cut it. You need to have significant text on a page that includes some of your target keywords.

Number of Pages – Its obvious, the more pages you have the more content and keywords are out there for people to find you.

Tags – There are areas of code in your website where you have the opportunity to put keywords and phrases relevant to your content. Title, ALT, Description and Keyword tags are all examples of tags. These should all be different and relevant for every page on your site.

Backlinks are other websites links’ that point back to your site. Google uses backlinks to determine how much authority your website should have. This is basically Google’s popularity contest and unfortunately its not always the prettiest site that wins. Here is how Google looks at backlinks:

Website Relevance – How relevant is the website or page of content that is linking back to you. A perfect link will be relevant to your site.

Keyword – Websites can use a keyword to link back to you like Real Estate Brokerage Websites instead of a normal html link like http://brokerageleader.com – the former is much better.

PageRank – Google’s algorithm produces a rank from 0-10 which takes into account everything we have talked about and more. The higher the rank, the more pull or authority this website or page has to pass on to you. High PR (PageRank) website linking back to you is golden. Some say this is less relevant than in the past but I believe it is a good judge of a domains popularity.

There is a ton more to talk about but we will keep it simple to start. Look for future posts on more methods Google uses to rank your website.

Adding signatures in emails is the one thing I hate about GMail. Well… that and the lack of folders. Fear not, as there is a workaround, courtesy of some help from GMail Labs. Its not perfect but it works. The only flaw is that you have to select it every time you send an email which may be a dealbreaker for some. To be honest, it will probably cause me not to add a signature to every email I send out. On with the show…

Directions for adding a signature with an image in GMail

Go into your settings area of GMail. Your settings tab is in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Go to the Labs area and enable “canned responses” and “inserting images”.

Compose a new email.

Add your signature content. You should see an image icon in your rich email editor if you want to add an image.

Look for the new link above your content for “Canned Responses” and save it as your new signature

Compose a new email and then add the signature using the “Canned Responses” menu
*Tip: If you like a signature someone sent you, you can usually just copy their signature and paste it into a new canned response then change the content to personalize yourself.
